Begin Like You Mean to Go On.

Ever After Bridal opened its doors in Conception Bay South on Sept 26, 2011 with a fierce passion, excitement and yes, a little bit of nerves.  Since then we have assisted hundreds of brides in finding “their dress”. Everyday is a new experience that we can honestly say we look forward to and thoroughly enjoy. It has been a journey and the learning curve is definitely present. We are constantly re-evaluating our processes and procedures to ensure the best experience for our brides as well as ensuring that our business grows.

We are all women who have made our homes in Conception Bay South, and so it seemed only natural to open our bridal boutique in our home town. Being diverse in our professional backgrounds was a definite asset. We were able to pool our experiences and knowledge to open a business that we could be proud of. Connie has lived in CBS over 30 years and has worked with many women through her experience as both a gym member and manager. Working with the public and customer service has always been number one. Julie has over 20 years in retail management experience in various industries as well as owning her own social media consulting business. Cyndi has previous experience in the bridal industry as well as a love of textiles and fashion.

Our goal was to make Ever After Bridal the shopping experience that every excited, nervous and anxious bride deserves. Weddings are an exciting and fun celebration and we want the bride’s wedding dress shopping experience to be the same. It is always fun to help a bride find her dress. We have discovered brides’ reaction to finding the dress is as different as the dresses they choose. You never know what to expect, they could cry, smile the biggest smile ever or refuse to take the dress off. When you see reactions like this it’s a sure thing that they have found their dress.

If we could give any advice to brides it would be, try on all of the styles and silhouettes because what you think you want or don’t want can change after you try them on and don’t be afraid to ask questions.  Order your dress and your bridesmaids’ dresses early, making sure to leave time for unforeseen issues like alterations. Many brides are surprised to hear it can take 5-6 months to get their dress. We have had some “emergency” brides, which means they never allowed enough time to order and now they have to buy off the rack. We have helped many brides find their dress this way but it is less stress on the bride if she allows herself the time so she isn’t limiting her choices. We are always thankful when a bride chooses us to be part of her day. We strive to go above and beyond to insure that she feels beautiful and confident on her wedding day.

Three women opening a new business has been incredibly challenging and incredibly rewarding. If we could offer any advice to new business owners it would be…don’t be afraid to ask for help, find a supportive network of professionals, keep your vision clear and last but certainly not least…find a great accountant! Our motto from the very start has been “Begin like you mean to go on” and that is exactly what we strive to do. This means when making business decisions we look at our long term goals and although they may seem risky no one has ever achieved their goals without taking risks.
